Thanks to the hard work of a dedicated group of ladies, The Friends were able to provide tea and cakes for almost 150 visitors on the afternoons of Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th July.
The event attracted cyclists, ramblers and many local people including families.
Tricia Farnham, President of the Portsmouth Cycle touring Club, wrote to thank the Friends: ‘My club had a lovely afternoon. We all enjoyed the delicious array of cakes; the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. We had perfect weather for relaxing, chatting and enjoying the refreshments’.
This was the second such event of its type and the grand total of £440 was raised. It is planned to make it an annual fixture in the Friends Programme of Events.
